Meet Mrs. S

This is a picture of my husband and me on our honeymoon in Mexico. I love to travel and I have visited 13 countries!   They are Australia, England, Ireland, Scotland, France, Germany, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Italy, Mexico, Canada, the Bahamas, Barbados, Dominica, and now the British Virgin Islands. My favorite place in the world, so far, is Cinque Terre, Italy, but I really enjoy all there is to do here in the BVI!

I taught in Olathe, Kansas, USA for 5 years before moving to the British Virgin Islands.  This is my second year teaching Grade 4 at Cedar International School!  My Master’s Degree is in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education, so I often incorporate American Sign Language into my teaching.  It is fun to be able to communicate with your hands!

I also like to spend time with the people I love and see musicals and plays.   That may be what I miss most living on the island.  My favorite musical is Wicked.  It is the story of how the Wicked Witch of the West became wicked.  Did you know that she was roommates with Glinda the Good Witch at University?  I also love to read.  I can’t wait to share many good books with you!

Hi Mrs.Snethen, its James. I my dad and I went to Barnes and Noble and found the 39 clue books, and bought the 6th book in Cahills vs. vespers. Dan tried to make the master serum again but Amy found out and poured it down the sink. She also made a fake serum that Dan drank and got upset at Amy. Now here is some things that are sad. Alaister is dead and someone else has the serum. Also Isabelle Kobra is vesper 2.

    • James, I’m glad you’re enjoying your summer! Have you found something else to read until the next 39 Clues book comes out? I bet you’re having a blast out in Paola. I’m in Switzerland right now, and it’s very nice, but we leave for Italy today. It’s a bit like I’m on my own 39 Clues mission! I hope to see you sometime too!

Hi Mrs snethen, how is teaching math going at your class? My new teacher is nice so are the students and staff. Living in Paola is very fun we have a nice small house.
Oh and I got THE THIRTY NINE CLUES Unstoppable book 4 flashpoint. I just got it Thursday the 4th and I’m at page 133 I’ve got so far! Pierce is going crazy he has mass pruduced the sermon and gave it to his kids! Cara pierce ‘s daughter has betrayed her father. She’s working with Amy and Dan. The final ingredient for the antidote is rare water snake venom in Cambodia. Pony the geinis hacker died tying to save Dan from being captured by the enemy. Pony fell through the air and landed and sadly died. Cara helped Dan escape on a plane when Galt was giving Dan truth serum or drugs. Sammy the scientist and Nellie blew up the mass production of the serum with nitro just able to get out in time. April May the greatest hacker is Cara pierce she almost hacked the only thing Amy, Dan ,Jake, atticus ,Hamilton and jonah had left of pony his super smart enhanced super computer. I hope your having a great time talk to you later bye Mrs snethen.

    • Hi James! It is great to hear from you! I’m really enjoying teaching math, but I do miss having great conversations about books with kids like you. I’m so glad you’re enjoying your new school and are still into The 39 Clues! While you’re waiting for the next book to come out, perhaps you could try another book by one of the 39 Clues authors. They were all chosen for the series because they were such great authors already. I especially like Margaret Peterson Haddix’s Among the Hidden. It’s not as exciting as The 39 Clues, but is just as good. Thanks for checking in with me, kiddo! It’s great to hear from you!

Hello Mrs Snethen how is your year going? I’m sorry that I couldn’t talk but I’ve been busy. I think the the thirtynine clues are done. Because in the last book they defeated president Pierce and that was in September 23rd . It is upsetting me. But I’ve kinda started a series called infinity ring. These three kids finish a ring that takes theme back in time to fix things that weren’t supposed to happen.
That’s preety much the first books summary. The second is they go back in time to try to stop a bucking army from attacking Paris in the early 800s. My mom and my brothers and me moved to a house that we will never have to from. Our last house’s ceiling was falling through so we moved to a different house in Paola but is out in the county. It’s fun. I’m happy that I don’t need to move anymore. Well I hope your having a wonderful time teaching math. Talk to you later by.

    • James,

As always, it’s so great to hear from you! I’m sorry to hear about the end of the 39 Clues, but I’m glad you enjoyed seeing the story to the end. It’s always bittersweet when a series ends – you miss the characters and the adventure, but it’s nice that the story is all wrapped up.

I’m also glad to hear about the new series! I hope you read it as voraciously as you did the 39 Clues!

Congratulations on your new house. I’m glad you’re enjoying it!

I’m back at inkeart and I’m at about 430 pages in to the book. It’s fabulous . How’s teaching doing ?how was your Christmas I’m sure you had a lot of fun. I still miss the thirtynine clues my brother Jackson in 6th grade is slowly reading them. It makes me think of when I was reading the same books and learning the same things. Well nice to talk to you HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Happy New Year to you, James! I had a fabulous Christmas, thank you for asking! It was nice to have time with friends and family. Good for you with Inkheart. You’re making awesome progress! When you finish that one, you might also enjoy The Missing Series. It’s written by Margaret Peterson Haddix, one of my favorite authors. There are 7 books out so far, and the first one is called Found.

I’m really enjoying teaching math! I learn a lot everyday and get to play a lot of fun math games with cool kiddos. I miss having great book talks with kids like you though! Thanks again for saying hi. I’m glad you’re enjoying your new house and that you’re still reading!

I’m sorry I haven’t replied in a while but I’ve been really busy. I finished inkeart about two weeks ago and I’m almost done with the next book inkspell. Then I’ll have to read the next book inkdeath.
All of them are over 500pages. I have about 42pages left in inkspell. It’s full of action ,exiting turns and mysterious tales. You would really love them. I will take your advice on the Missing Series just by the name it sounds interesting. I’m getting an idea that the thirty nine clues are not done. I say that because in the very back of the last book It says “the time has come to wake the dragon” and knowing the thirtynine clues the dragon is the symbol of the Ekat branch. Witch might mean something. Well I have a new baby cousin he was born last night his name is Keric. Well I hope you are having a wonderful time. Talk to you later.

    • That’s very interesting about The 39 Clues! It certainly does sound like they’ll continue the series then. Maybe they’ll focus on the history of that branch, like they focused on the history of the whole family for the second installment of the series.

It makes me so happy that you’ve continued to read this year James. Thanks for telling me about what you’re interested in now!

Enjoy that new baby cousin. Will you be doing some babysitting once he’s older?
